Faculty and staff are invited to join us on January 16, 2020; 12:00-2:00 at 242 York Lanes.

Earlier this academic year (September 2019), the President’s Council on Internationalization and Global Engagement released an Issue Paper to initiate a campus-wide consultation process that aims at developing an ethical, inclusive, and integrated institutional international strategic plan. This is aligned with York University’s Academic Plan (2015–2020) which identified “the internationalization of higher education and York’s global engagement strategy including our enrolment plan, our outreach and partnerships, our programs and research” as a priority to “inform our planning decisions” (p. 7).

Ever since, the York International Office held a series of consultations with York community members. Students, faculty and staff members, alumni, and local and international partners shared their feedback on the issue paper, their past/current experiences with internationalization and their future goals. Through this consultation process, we hope to reflect on our current situation with regard to internationalization and global engagement initiatives and consider ways to expand opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to contribute to York’s local and global impact in this regard. Together, we hope to define York University’s vision for building on our current global engagement initiatives and set goals for further internationalization to enhance York’s place as a locally and globally engaged university.

While we might have already met some of you in your respective Faculties/departments, we would still welcome you to attend this open consultation to meet with other community members who share your interest in internationalization and global engagement.

Please register for the consultation workshop.
